Patent Blaster looks strange, juicy, and fun. This survival shooter has  you combating a string of odd creatures (36 types in all) inspired by patent art of questionable quality, like that found on contextfreepatentart.tumblr.com.

You can modify your attacks by picking up different items, each of which features a name randomly generated from Wikipedia entries.

The visual style of this game is unique, and the particle effects are cool. I also like the way enemies turn into chunky red pixels and fall apart when you kill them. And I really like the wallpaper background.

Patent Blaster is just a couple of weeks away from release at this point. You can follow the game’s progress on IndieDB, on the official website, and on designer David Stark’s Twitter account.
